Caveman $0.98 Yes, that’s a former Beatle in caveman costume for this more-dumb-than-funny 1981 comedy about a prehistoric misfit (Ringo Starr) who recruits other misfits to start a new tribe. The jokes about flatulence and sex are banal, but the cast of then-unfamiliar faces is fun to watch from the perspective of history. The best thing going are some dinosaur special effects, though Ringo might argue meeting… |

Stephen King’s It [VHS] $3.79 Is there anything scarier than clowns? Of course not. And who knows scary better than Stephen King? You see where we’re going. It puts a malevolent clown (given demented life by a powdered, red-nosed Tim Curry) front and center, as King’s fat novel gets the TV-movie treatment. Even at three hours plus, the action is condensed, but an engaging Stand by Me vibe prevails for much of the running time…. |

Does King Mark feature in Die Meistersingers overture?
In bar 40 the brass and timpani motif is attributed to ‘King David’ on a website. I am wondering if this motif is in fact a leitmotif representing King Mark, not King David?
The motif goes: AAAA, D F(sharp) A ABA (then is repeated)
No. King Mark is a character in “Tristan and Isolde”.
The motif you are referring to is known as the “King David” motif because the Meistersingers carry a banner which portrays the biblical King David playing a harp. It is also sometimes known as the “banner” motif and, like the overture’s opening motif, represents the Meistersingers themselves.
