hw help! Why doesnt America just print out more money to pay off the debts of the war?
ok i know it has to do with inflation, something about like earlier u could buy so much for like 5 cents now u cant. And like …well the q: If America is in so much debt, why doesnt it just print out more so it can pay it off. I think its something like becasue then it would tech be more in debt cuz the money value is going to go wayyy down. …but somhow i know thats wrong. thank you so much if you can answer that!
What does it mean backed up by gold or something like that my brother said it too, but i didnt get it
They don’t print more money, because for one, they US Federal Reserve doesn’t back money up with gold anymore. (the currency issued now is called fiat money) AND if too much money is into circulation, money wouldn’t be scarce. When money isn’t scarce, it loses it’s value causing inflation in prices.
