Paintings are the prettiest creation of man, that has the power to exert a pull on the beholder. Oil paintings are beautiful art forms, and these antique elements continue to mark their stand thru generations.
Why oil painting? The great painters and the artists of the past selected to work on oil paintings as it rendered a really pragmatic output. The paintings differed from those produced by water colours, as the oil paintings looked extremely rich and engaging.
Oil paintings originated in the middle ages, when the need for water-resistant painting was at the top. Great artists settled on oil paintings due to their sturdiness and durable resistance.

Behind the great thing about oil paintings is the hard work of the artist. A classical work may take one or two weeks to months to be finished. Color pigments and binders are the voters of the oil paints.
Linseed oils, poppy seed oils, safflower oils and walnut oils are the oils to be mixed with the pigmentation. Brushers made from different fibers are used to color.
Oil painting is claimed to consume lots of work because it doesn’t dry up simply, and if the artists wants to color in layers, he must wait for the paints to dry at every level that may devour a week. The oils employed would dry at their own rate.
The artist will be in a position to make changes in the dry period of the painting, which is very unlikely in water paintings. Oil paintings do no dry thru evaporation, they need to be oxidized. And then these paints are polished after half a year or a year.
Some art conservators consider an oil painting to be dry only after its 60-80 years old. Oil paintings reached the top during the renaissance, where artists started to select wooden panels as their base medium.
They’d stretch their canvas over the wooden panel. Artists exploited an assortment of brushes to provide different types of unique effects, knives and blades were also used. Some artists painted with their fingers too.

Oil painting is an astonishing art form and even today there are many artists who work fabulously on oil paints. But now there are far more sophisticated tools to provide oil paintings like water miscible oil paints.
These paints can be thinned and cleaned up with water instead of using the turpentine. Earlier turpentine was employed as a cleaner in oil paintings. These water miscible oil paints scale back the deep odour of noxious chemicals.
Those days artist coated a mixed mix on the canvas before they started painting, this was done to offer protection to the canvas from the noxious nature of the paints. But now all of these safety measures are less needed.
